![]() The app will install through a package installer and be accessible as a preference panel in Mail’s Settings. And whilst Growl is going Mac App Store-only with a new paid version, you can install GrowlMail alongside the current version of Growl, and use it with the new Mail on Lion. In fact, according to the release notes, the new GrowlMail 1.3 won’t even work on older versions of OS X. GrowlMail, the popular utility to enable Growl notifications for new email messages in Apple Mail, has been updated to work on Lion. In the past few hours, we’ve collected the most interesting app updates released today, so check them out after the break. But on the other hand, developers of third-party apps for the Mac haven’t missed the opportunity to update their software following the release of Lion, which is likely being installed and tested for the first time by hundreds of thousands of Mac users as we speak. Apple also released several minor updates on its Support website, which we outlined in a separate Lion article here. ![]() ![]() More often than not I've needed a file on mobile while on the road yet been unable to access it for download because it's size is reportedly too large.Earlier today, Apple released new hardware, OS X Lion, and a series of software updates to bring new OS compatibility to apps such as the iWork suite, Cocoa enhancements to iTunes, and new features to Safari. Is there a necessary or unavoidable technological limitation causing this? If it's just a proprietary business decision, drop it. I don't believe there should be a bandwith cap on downloadable files. Clearly the uploads continue but the app just isn't gathering/reporting it well at all.Ģ. I'll finally see a new total and it'll be a couple dozen more gigabytes. After a week or so of refreshing the app or killing the app using the multitasking/app-switcher/app-killer function then re-starting the app. Unfortunately, I find the upload total rarely updates. Consequently, while away from home on business I like to pull up the app to check my upload process (not to mention occasionally retrieve files). I have a Mac Mini with a large external drive that's still trying to finish the initial upload after a couple months. The app is incredibly reluctant to grab updated summary information from the Backblaze servers. I really like the Backblaze service, but the app is terribly limited in at least two ways that impact it's usability for me:ġ. ![]()
